Last updated 28 September 2026 — draft, pending legal review
These terms are the agreement between you and PiCuPiC. They explain what the service is, what you may and may not do, what happens with your photos and pictures, how PiCuPiC-Coins work, and what each side is responsible for. Nothing in them takes away rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law.
PiCuPiC uses artificial intelligence to turn a photo of you into new, stylised pictures of you in other eras, roles and settings. Every picture is generated by AI. It is a creative interpretation, not a photograph and not a historical record. How closely a picture resembles you, and how historically accurate it is, will vary. Pictures are made on request and may resemble pictures made for other people. Every picture is labelled as AI-generated.
When you upload a photo, you confirm that:
If you break these promises, for example by uploading someone else's photo, you are liable for the loss this causes us or others, under general Swedish law.
You own your photos and the pictures generated from them, to the extent any rights exist in them. PiCuPiC owns the service itself: the app, the design, the frames, cards, prompt library, stories and brand.
You give PiCuPiC a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, process and display your photos and pictures only to run PiCuPiC for you: to generate your pictures, check that they still look like you, keep them safe, show them to you, and show them to others where you choose to share them. When you make a picture public (on your profile, the Wall or through a share link), the licence also covers showing it inside PiCuPiC and in share previews for as long as it is public. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies others saved from a public share and copies we must keep by law.
We do not sell your photos or pictures. We do not use them in advertising, and we do not use your photos to train AI models, unless you give separate permission that you can withdraw at any time. When your agreement ends you can download your pictures first.
To make your pictures, PiCuPiC analyses the face in your photo, compares results with it to check the likeness, and may estimate age to keep minors out. We do this only with your explicit consent, which we ask for before you generate, and only for these purposes. The details, the service providers we use and how long we keep data are in the Privacy Policy.
You may not use PiCuPiC to create, upload, share or send anything that:
We check uploads and pictures automatically and may refuse to generate or show a picture. Coins are not charged for a picture we refuse.
You can report a picture, comment, message or profile you believe breaks these terms or the law, using the report function or by email to hello@picupic.app with a link and the reason. We review reports and may remove content, limit features, or suspend or close an account. When we do, we tell the person affected what we did, why, which rule or law it was based on, whether automated tools were used, and how to object. You can object by replying within six months, and a person will review the decision. We may report content that suggests a threat to someone's life or safety to the police.
Coins are delivered to your account immediately. At checkout you ask for immediate delivery and confirm that you lose your 14-day right of withdrawal once the coins are delivered (Swedish Distance and Off-Premises Contracts Act, chapter 2, section 11). We confirm your purchase by email.
On top of that, we refund on request coins you bought within the last 14 days and have not used. Write to hello@picupic.app.
Subscriptions: you can withdraw within 14 days of starting as long as no coins from the subscription have been used. Subscriptions renew until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your account page, as easily as you signed up, and keep the benefits until the end of the paid period. We tell you about price changes at least 30 days in advance, and you can cancel before the new price applies.
If a picture is faulty, for example it failed technically, is not what you ordered, or the service did not work as described, tell us. We will regenerate it free of charge or return the coins. You also keep your rights under the Swedish Consumer Sales Act for digital content and services, such as correction, price reduction, termination and damages. Complain within a reasonable time after you notice the problem.
A picture is not faulty just because it is a creative interpretation, resembles you less than you hoped, or is not historically exact, since that is how the service is described in section 1.
We develop PiCuPiC continuously and may change, add or remove features, eras, styles and prices for new purchases for good reasons, such as security, law, new technology or product development. If a change clearly makes the service worse for you, we tell you in advance, and you may end the agreement within 30 days and get unused paid coins back.
We tell you by email and in the app at least 30 days before material changes to these terms take effect, and why. If you don't accept them, you can close your account before then and get unused paid coins back.
We may suspend or close an account, or remove content, if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms or the law, if it is needed to protect other people or the service, or if the law requires it. Where possible we warn you first. Section 7 explains how you can object. You may close your account at any time.
We work to keep PiCuPiC available, secure and working, but it may sometimes be unavailable for maintenance, updates or reasons outside our control. We are not responsible for delays caused by events we could not reasonably prevent or foresee, such as outages at our providers, attacks or official decisions.
We are responsible for loss we cause through negligence. We are not responsible for indirect loss, such as lost profit, or for how you or others use pictures after they are downloaded or shared. Our total liability to you is limited to the higher of what you paid us in the 12 months before the loss, or SEK 1,000.
These limits do not apply to loss caused intentionally or by gross negligence, to personal injury, or where mandatory law does not allow liability to be limited.
Swedish law applies. If you live in another EU country, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of that country. If we can't solve a complaint together, you can turn to the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN), arn.se, Box 174, 101 23 Stockholm, and we will take part in its proceedings. You can also go to a court in Sweden or in the EU country where you live.
